OHA awards nearly $1 million to four non-profit organizations

HONOLULU – In the latest example of its efforts to help Native Hawaiian college students work toward a career, the Board of Trustees for the Office of Hawaiian Affairs awarded a key grant to the Myron B. Thompson School of Social Work at the University of Hawai‘i at Mänoa.

The $270,990 OHA grant will help fund the School of Social Work’s Hawaiian Learning program. The grant covers a three-year period and is designed to open doors to careers in social work for Native Hawaiian and other students.
